July 19, 2020 - Flyout to Cape May for Breakfast

This Sunday morning the Hangar Row A flyers were heading to Cape May, New Jersey for breakfast.  We had a big turnout today with seven airplanes and 12 people.

Chip and Michelle were in the lead in their C172.

Uh-oh.  The 172 is being stalked by an RV-8.

JJ from Easton joined the fun in his Skybolt.  Here he is joined up on Chip's 172.

That's some seriously good smoke.

The RV-8 followed by the C172 followed by the Skybolt.

Chip took this great shot of me from his C172 on autopilot.

From the other side.

Brian and Charlie in close in the RV-8.

JJ in close in the Skybolt.

Nice shot of the three of us.

We all climbed to fly over Dover Air Force Base's Class D airspace.

Looking down at the Dover AFB Air Transport Museum.  Dover is a big military transport base, home to C17s now but C5s and C141s in the past.

Chip and JJ about to go feet wet over the Delaware Bay, which is covered by some low fog.

A good shot of the entire Dover Air Force Base.  See all the big C17s parked on the ramp at left.

Chip and JJ over the Delaware Bay.

The two planes over the low fog was very pretty from the air.

And there is Cape May Airport.

JJ in his Skybolt happy to be at Cape May.

Steve's Maule.

Chip's 172, Brian's RV-8 and my RV-7.

Tom, Brian and JJ at the breakfast table.  All seating was outside but under shade.  As always at the Cape May Flight Line Diner, the food was excellent.

Rachel, Chip, Michelle and Charlie.

Heading back out to the flightline.  All the aircraft were from Essex Skfypark except for that Mooney in the foreground left.

Ron's C150, Tom's Maule, and Chuck's C172.

From the rear quarter.

Clustering around the Skybolt.

We departed Cape May.  I did a little low-level over the marsh to the north.

Passing by a President Trump supporter.

Creeping up on the three amigos:  Ron, Chuck and Tom.

Nice aerial shot of Ron in his C150.

Nice aerial shot of Chuck in his C172.

Nice aerial shot of Tom in his Maule.

Passing by Delaware Airpark.

Years in the making, this estate on a point of land sticking out into the Chester River is finally complete.  What a place!

On a good summer day, the boats are always out at Hart-Miller island.
